Suburbs in the South and West of Sydney

With the Royal National Park here in the South, as well as lots of waterways and gardens that also includes the suburbs from South Cronulla Beach all the way to the famous Botany Bay where the first fleet of ships landed in Sydney.

The main suburbs in the Inner West district would be the Newtown and the Glebe. Jam packed full of international restaurants, traditional pubs, second hand bookshops, health food shops and lots of accommodation available such as backpacker hostels. This part of the city is very busy and is full of life.

If one travels further west, one arrives at the Leichhardt, which is better known as Little Italy. There is a Norton Street Festival taking place here each year and is the major event of the year in Little Italy. Norton Street has loads of delicatessen shops and art house cinemas. The street is pretty trendy with bookshops and ceramic tile shops that cater for the trendy city dweller.

The Sydney Olympics stadium is located out here further west of Sydney at Homebush Bay and is a very impressive stadium. The neighbourhood of Parramatta is the main business hub of the west. Sydney’s Little Vietnam is located out here between the western boundary of the Blue Mountains and Parramatta and is known as Cabramatta and has delightful culinary restaurants from all parts of Asia.
